Installing Keyman
(for use with languagegeek fonts)

NOTE: Follow these instructions only if you downloaded a Keyman Keyboard Layout. These are marked on the download pages with a “K” icon and are usually found under the column Download Touch-Type Keyboard.

How to Install a Keyboard in a few easy steps.

It may look a bit complicated to begin with, but once the Keyman has been installed, it's really simple. PLEASE READ THIS NOTICE —>

  1. On any of the keyboard download pages on this site, download the keyboard you want to use. After you have saved the file (remember where you saved it!).
  2. Run Keyman from the Start menu, a little "K" key should appear at the bottom-right hand side of your screen. Right-Click this icon and select Keyman Configuration. Click the Options tab, and make sure that Start Keyman with Windows is selected if you want Keyman to start automatically every time you turn on your computer.
  3. Navigate to where you saved the keyboard file. When you click on the file, you should see an install screen for the keyboard. Follow the instructions.
  4. You may need to exit and restart keyman.
  5. Whenever you want to use this keyboard, left click on the Keyman "K" icon, and choose your keyboard.
  6. For any other keyboards you want to use, repeat steps 4-6

There have been some problems with some Keyman downloads from Tavultesoft in the past. The current version seems to be ok. You can download it at their website www.tavultesoft.com, or you can use an older version downloadable from languagegeek. DOWNLOAD KEYMAN HERE
This version of Keyman comes with the Algonquian Syllabics keyboard included. You can uninstall the Syllabics keyboard if you don’t use this language later from the Keyman Configuration. Once Keyman is installed, you can then add as many keyboards as you want.
